How to read KDX.GG statistics and rankings

KDX.GG summarizes observed League of Legends data inside a defined cohort. This page explains the scope, common metrics and limitations to consider before comparing results.

Methodology reviewed .

The short version

A rate describes its selected sample—not the next match.

Patch, queue, region, role, rank range, time window and sample size can materially change a result. Check the scope shown on the page and be cautious with small samples or narrow filters.

Inputs

Where displayed information comes from

Riot service data

Public account, rank and match facts used by KDX.GG originate from Riot Games services accessed by the site. Availability and coverage depend on those upstream services.

Game reference data

Champion, item, rune, patch and asset references may use Riot-hosted Data Dragon resources and CommunityDragon data used by the project.

KDX.GG aggregation

KDX.GG services group eligible observations into the counts, rates, build summaries and comparative ranking fields displayed by the public pages.

Process

From observations to a page

  1. 1. Define the cohort

The active page and filters determine which observations are eligible. Depending on the module, that can include patch, queue, role, region, rank range and time window.

  2. 2. Count eligible outcomes

Available records are grouped by the relevant champion, player, item set, rune page or other displayed dimension. Missing fields are not silently treated as successful outcomes.

  3. 3. Calculate summaries

Counts are turned into rates and comparative fields for the chosen cohort. The visible sample gives essential context for interpreting those summaries.

  4. 4. Present the scope

KDX.GG displays the relevant patch and filters where the page has them. If a dependency is unavailable, a module can be incomplete or temporarily unavailable rather than authoritative.

Definitions

Common metrics on KDX.GG

Games / sample
The number of eligible observations represented by the displayed result. Larger samples are generally more stable, but size alone does not remove selection bias.
Win rate
Wins divided by eligible games for the displayed champion, player or configuration in the selected cohort.
Pick rate
How often a champion or configuration appears within the relevant eligible population. The denominator follows the module and filters shown on the page.
Ban rate
How often a champion was banned within the source population represented by that result.
Tier / rank
A comparative summary from KDX.GG ranking data for the selected cohort. It is not an official Riot rank and is not a guarantee of performance in an individual game.

Interpretation

Important limitations

  • A high rate from a very small sample can be volatile.
  • Observed popularity and outcomes do not prove that a build caused those outcomes.
  • Player skill, team composition, matchup and game state can change what is appropriate.
  • Upstream outages, delayed ingestion or incomplete fields can reduce coverage.

Freshness

Patches change the answer

Use the patch label and active filters shown on the page. Results can move as new eligible matches are processed, and different modules may update at different times. KDX.GG does not present a past-patch result as a permanent recommendation.

Public pages without a stable entity or sufficient usable facts may be kept out of the search index until those conditions are met.

Questions and corrections

Methodology should be testable against what a page actually shows. If a definition no longer matches the product, or a result appears incorrect, send the page URL, active filters and a short explanation through the contact page .
